Joan Bumgarner, "Mama LAAHU"

We honor the memory of Joan Bumgarner, lovingly known as “Mama LAAHU,” one of CAHIP‑LA’s most cherished and influential leaders. Joan passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, service and unwavering dedication to our chapter and our industry.

Joan loved life and loved this profession. She embodied what it means to be a model CAHIP‑LA member, a tireless volunteer, a generous mentor and an extraordinary human being. Her steadfast leadership and deep affection for our community are legendary. We are forever blessed to have been inspired, guided, and enriched by her presence.
